Humboldt has a wide variety of special events and festivals that happen throughout the year, often hosted in partnership with local, non-profit organizations.

Kids Recreational Hockey

The City offers the opportunity for kids to participate in an organized recreational hockey program. It's focused on fun, participation and meeting new friends in a non-competitive atmosphere.

The program is available for kids aged 5-13 years old. Children are divided into two age groups: Junior (5-9) and Denior (10-13). Under supervision and instruction, each group will be on the ice for one hour each Sunday (except for Humboldt Broncos home games or other special event bookings). Participants are expected to wear full equipment including skates, helmet and padding.

Ice Time: Sundays

Registration Fee: $120 + GST per child (A discount will be offered for each subsequent child enrolled in the program.)

in motion Family Day

Working together, Humboldt in motion partners with the City and community groups to offer a variety of recreational activities to encourage residents to get up, get out and get active during the winter!

Hosted on the third Monday in February each year.

Our Humboldt Photography Contest

Held each year, we want you to tell us what you love about Our Humboldt!

It's easy, all you have to do is show us how your local photos support any or all of the values identified in the Our Humboldt strategic plan.

The top entries will have their photos displayed in an exhibit at the Humboldt & District Gallery - so make sure they are high quality - after which they will receive their framed print. The top winners will also receive a prize to acknowledge their creative efforts in capturing our vibrant community.

Winners may also be featured in City of Humboldt marketing materials throughout the year, such as in the Community Guide, on the website, through social media ... or more!

Summer Sizzler

Held over the third weekend each June, Humboldt's Summer Sizzler offers four days of entertainment, exbihits, rides, food and fun for the whole family!

Canada Day

Fireworks and family-friendly entertainment and activities mark Humboldt's Canada Day celebrations on July 1 of each year.

Volunteer Appreciation BBQ

Volunteers are an essential resource in Humboldt and this event is one way to that those who give up their valuable time to help others in our community.

Hosted annually in September.

Awards Recognition Night

Humboldt's annual Awards Recognition Night acknowledges those in our community who have received distinction at a provincial or national level in any sport, cultural or recreational discipline.

Teams and individuals are publicly recognized during a regular Humboldt Broncos hockey game in January of each year.

Please note nominations are now closed for this year - watch for nomination forms to be re-released in the fall.
