Score Clock Replacement at the Elgar Petersen Arena
The City of Humboldt and the Humboldt Broncos Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club are pleased to announce the replacement of the Elgar Petersen Arena score clock to occur before the beginning of the 2018 – 2019 hockey season.
The existing score clock was installed back in the 1980s and it was becoming increasingly difficult to find maintenance and replacement parts for the clock. Because the existing clock had no video display capabilities there was only limited opportunity to use it as an advertising or promotional tool. The City and the Bronco Club had over the past years discussed the desire to sometime replace the old score clock.
The new score clock will be a full colour, four-sided, LED video display board style of clock. Each side of the new clock will be approximately 6.5 feet tall by 11.5 feet wide. The full video display capabilities on all four sides greatly enhances the opportunity for the Bronco Hockey Club and the City to generate advertising revenue, for the Broncos during their games and for the City during other events in the Arena. All arena users including minor hockey and Skate Humboldt are expected to benefit from this improved quality display and video capabilities during their events. The City and the Broncos are finalizing a cost sharing agreement for the supply and installation of the new score clock that will be the mutual benefit of both parties over the anticipated life of the new score clock.
